Military | Samuel Nixdorff moved from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to Maryland shortly after the close of the Revolutionary War with his brothers.
Although his death occurred some time after the close of the war, it was due to the infirmities of rheumatism originally incurred by hard service and exposure endured by him while in the ranks of the American Army. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War March 7th, 1776, in Capt. John Nelson's Company of Independent Riflemen.
After locating in Maryland, he engaged in the manufacture of wagons and carried on a general blacksmithing business. |
