Know all men by this presents that we John Shemwell, Thomas Shemwell, Z.T. Shemwell and James J. Shemwell all of the state of Tennessee and County of Stewart are held and firmly bound unto the governor in and over the State aforesaid or his successors in office in the sum of One Thousand dollars to be paid to the governor or his successors in office or their assigns which payment will and truly be made we bind ourselves, our heirs, our executors, and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 1st day of March, 1847 the condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound in John Shemwell administrator with the will administrator of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of Joseph Shemwell, dec’d. do make a cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular goods and chattels rights and credits of the deceased which have as shall come into the hands, knowledge or possession of said John Shemwell or into the hands or possession of any other person or persons for him and the same do make (sic) as exhibit or cause to be exhibited unto our issuing County Court and the same (sic) and the same goods, chattels, rights and credits and all other goods, chattels, rights and credits of the deceased at the time of his death which at any time hereafter may come into the hands of any person or persons for him do will and truly administer according to the Law and further do make or cause to be made a True and just account of the administration within Two years after the date of these presents and all the rest and Residue of said goods, chattels and credits which may be found Remaining on the said administration account the same being first expensed and allowed agreeably to the Law shall deliver and payments such person or persons Respectfully or the same shall be due pursuant to the True Testament being first had and made in our said court then this obligation to be v????
