"Whereas James Magahey son of Wm Magahe of Hanover County & Rebecka Priest [sic -Pruitt] of the aforesd County have proposed their intentions of marriage before two severall monthly meetings of the people called Quakers who aer due Enquiry of their clearness from all others on acct of marriage and that the relations of the sd James Mcagahe weare consenting to this marriage did give consent that the sdpartye's should accomplish their intentions. Wee therefore whose names underwritten doe certify all is ----- it maye concern that the sd James Meagahe and the also sd Rebeckah Priest did at sd meeting held of the aforesaid people in their meeting ---- in Hanover County then and their on the 9th day of the 10 mo 1721 take each other for wife and husband he the sd James Magahe tak in the sd Rebeckah by the hand & declaring that in the presence of God and this meeting I take Rebeckah Priest for my weded wife being as we both shall live and the sd Rebekah Priest then and their likewise declaring that in the presence of God and this meeting I take James Magahe for my weded husband as long as wee both shall live and for the conversation thereof the sd James Magahe and the sd Rebeckah Priest doe set their hand and wee whose names are underwriten are their witnesses."

Indenture made between John Earl Granville and James McGehee. The grant transaction was for 10 Shillings (one time payment) and included 600 acres which was partially bordered by the Taylor Creek. The land was actually being rented by James and he was required to pay 24 Shillings Sterling twice a year for every 100 acres of the land he used.

Joseph McGehee submits a $200 Administrator Bond for the James McGehee Estate. He is responsible for the singular good, chattels, rights, and, credits for the Estate. He is tasked with making a true and perfect inventory of all items which have come into the possession of the Estate.
