between October 1835 and April 1836 (Age 42 years)
Note: The Texas Revolution (or Texas War of Independence) was fought from October 2, 1835 to April 21, 1836 between Mexico and the Texas (Tejas) portion of the Mexican state of Coahuila y Tejas. The Texas Revolution erupted in 1836, after Texas declared its independence from Mexico. Mexico responded by invading Texas, where General Santa Anna won decisive victories in the battles of the Alamo and Goliad. The war ended at the Battle of San Jacinto (about 20 miles) east of modern day downtown Houston) where General Sam Houston led the Texas Army to victory in 18 minutes over a portion of the Mexican Army under Santa Anna, who was captured shortly after the battle. The conclusion of the war resulted in the creation of the Republic of Texas - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Revolution

Michael A Troutman’s Children - Revised My earlier research concerning Michael A Troutman and his family did not include all his children. After further analysis of the data described below, I have concluded (and updated the Family Tree) that Michael A Troutman had 5 (NOT 3) children: Peter Troutman, Emily Troutman, Joseph Troutman, Elizabeth Troutman, and Jane Ann Troutman. Prior research suggested that Michael only had Peter, Emily, and Joseph. I just complete a detailed review of several records; specifically: (1) 1830/1840 Census data, (2) families living in close proximity to Michael during the 1840/1850’s, (3) and various marriage recorded 1830/40 timeframe. I found 4 new items during my research. Resolution of those issues support that Elizabeth and Jane were also Michael’s children. It is important to note that pre-1850 Census records only listed the Head of Household. The remaining family members were listed as male or female in various age brackets. Item #1 - The 1830 Census listed 5 children and not just Peter, Emily, and Joseph. There were two unknown females, i.e., one daughter in the 0-5 year category and another daughter in the 5-10 year category. Item #2, I had assumed that Emily was the daughter in the 1840 Census. However, Emily was NOT the daughter because she married Thomas Barnett in 1837. Thomas and Emily appeared in the 1840 census with their own two children. Item #3 - Elizabeth could not have been the daughter listed in Michael’s 1840 Census. In early 1840 she married Aaron Hizer and they were independently listed in the 1840 Census. Therefore, the female listed in the 1840 Census was actually Jane Troutman. Moreover, in 1838 Jane married Oscar Smith and they appeared as a family in the 1850 Census. Item #4 - Note that in the 1850 Census it is observed that Michael Troutman lived 2 houses down from Oscar/Jane Smith. In the 1840 Census Michael Troutman lived 2 houses down from Aaron/Elizabeth Hizer. The close living proximity of Jane and Elizabeth’s families further support they are Michael’s daughters.
