The grant transaction was for 10 Shillings (one time payment) and included 600 acres which was partially bordered by the Taylor Creek. The land was actually being rented by James and he was required to pay 24 Shillings Sterling twice a year for every 100 acres of the land he used.

John was an English statesman, commonly known by his earlier title as Lord Carteret, was the son of George Carteret, 1st Baron Carteret and Grace Granville. John was 7th Seigneur of Sark from 1715 to 1720 when he sold the fief. He held (in absentia) the office of Bailiff of Jersey from 1715. |
