Indenture between Wyatt Lemuel McGehee and Wyatt Edward Cannady, Administrator of the Estate of (John) Wyatt Cannady (died in Nov 1880). The transaction was for $298.75. Wyatt Lemuel McGehee purchased the land which included Lot 2 in the Histlons Land Division.

Transcription: “Franklin County in the Superior Court: WL McGhee against AS Tucker administrator of NH Murphy, Summons for Relief. The State of North Carolina to the Sheriff of Franklin County: Greetings - You are hereby commanded to summon AS Tucker Administrator of NH Murphy the defendant above named, if he be found within your county to be and appear before the Judge of our Superior Court at a Court to be held for the County of Franklin at the Court House in Louisburg on the 6th Monday before the first Monday of March, it being the 21st day of January 1895, and answer the complaint which will be deposited in the office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of said County within the first three days of said term, and let the said Defendant take notice that if he fail to answer the said complaint within the time required by law, the Plaintiff will apply to the Court for the relief demanded in the complaint. Hereof fail not, and of this summons make a due return. Given under my hand and seal of said Court this 10th day of January 1895 RR Harris, Clerk Superior Court” Note that WL McGehee is a judgement creditor and is owed $196.46. AS Tucker, Estate Administrator, sold the personal property of NH Murphy and received a total of $387.87. Of that total, he distributed $186.56 to other creditors, not including WL McGehee. Transcribed in part: "This deed made by FW Biskett, Commissioner, under a judgement of the Superior Court of Franklin County in a special proceeding entitled 'Susan E. McGehee, Administratix of JY McGehee, deceased, and others against WL McGehee and others" to WL McGehee of Franklin County. Witnesseth :That whereas the said FW Biskett, Commissioner, as aforesaid being licensed by a judgement in said proceeding did on the eleventh day of January, 1904, after due advertisement and in strict pursuance of the terms of said order of sale at Willow, Granville County, North Carolina, expose the land hereinafter described at public sale to the highest bidder, upon terms set forth in said order of sale, and others and there owe BJ Harris because the last and highest bidder for the said lands in the sum of $1850 and said BJ Harris subsequently assigned his bid to the sale WL McGehee who has complied with the terms of the sale, and whereas upon report of said sale to said court the same was in all respects ratified and confirmed and said FW Biskett, Commissioner, was ordered by the Judgement of said court to execute a deed in for simple to said purchaser upon the payment of the purchase money; and whereas, the said purchase money has been paid in full. Now therefore in consideration to the premises of said FW Biskett, Commissioner, as aforesaid doth hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said WL McGehee, his heirs and assignee's, that certain lot or parcel of land, situated in said county along the lands of WJ Mauguan and others bound as follows, to wit: (detailed survey of the land is given and omitted for brevity) containing 165 acres more or less. To have to hold the aforesaid land, with its partitions to him the said WL McGehee, his heirs, and assigners forever, and as full and ample manner as the said FW Biskett, Commissioner, as aforesaid, is authorized and empowered to convey the same.
