Note: The Texas Revolution (or Texas War of Independence) was fought from October 2, 1835 to April 21, 1836 between Mexico and the Texas (Tejas) portion of the Mexican state of Coahuila y Tejas. The Texas Revolution erupted in 1836, after Texas declared its independence from Mexico. Mexico responded by invading Texas, where General Santa Anna won decisive victories in the battles of the Alamo and Goliad. The war ended at the Battle of San Jacinto (about 20 miles) east of modern day downtown Houston) where General Sam Houston led the Texas Army to victory in 18 minutes over a portion of the Mexican Army under Santa Anna, who was captured shortly after the battle. The conclusion of the war resulted in the creation of the Republic of Texas - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Revolution

Obituary
Published in the Rochester(IN) Sentinel, Thursday, August 17, 1899 Melina MOON, consort of William MOON, deceased, died at her residence, Monday evening, after an illness of eight weeks which was superinduced by a fall. She was 82 years and 10 months old and one of the earliest settlers of Fulton county. She, with her husband, settled in Wayne township, in 1844, having come from Kentucky, where she was born in 1816. She was an enthusiastic and devout member of the Baptist church for 50 years and was the mother of ten children. Hon. Sidney R. MOON and the wife of Commissioner Ben BRUCE being two of them. The funeral was conducted at the old Moon homestead, Wednesday, and a very large concourse of people paid the last tribute of respect to one of the noblest of Fulton county mothers.
