WILL OF WILLIAM THORN OF CHARLES COUNTY, MARYLAND Provincial Maryland liber 21, folio 816 Charles County, Maryland Liber AC4, folio 82 I, William Thorn of Charles County in the Province of Maryland being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind and Memory, Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in Manner and form following. That is to say, First and Principally, I bequeath my soul to God, trusting through the Merits of my Blessed Saviour to have free Pardon and Remission of all my Sins, and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried. As for such Worldly Goods it hath pleased God to bestow upon me, I bequeath in manner following.
Item - To my daughter Elizabeth, my own bed, with all its furniture, A Sett of Curtains and Valyons, a young mare and a cow yearling.
Item- To my daughter Elizabeth, one Chest and her choice of the Pewter dishes, a large Pewter Basin, and her choice of the Iron Pots.
Item - I bequeath unto my son William Thorn, the next choice of the beds with all its furniture, the Buccaneer's Gun, a chest, - the next choice of the Pots, my newest suit of clothes, and my Castor Hat.
Item - I give and bequeath unto my son William Thorn, one cow yearling.
Item- I give and bequeath unto my eldest son John Thorn and his heirs forever, all my lands with all the Houses and Edifices thereon and no more.
Item - I give and bequeath to the Rest of my children all the rest or remainder of my movable Estate, to be Equally Divided amongst them, hereby constituting my son-in-law, Isaac Shamwell executor, of this my last will and testament. But in case of his Mortality, then my son James Thorn to be my Executor. Hereby Revoking and Dis-annulling all former wills by me made, I have herewith Set my hand affixed my seal this Twenty Second day of November 1737

Hi List,
I am looking at the family of William Thorne (d. 1737) and wonder if
anyone has information on his daughter Mary (b. abt 1712). I am
trying to figure out who she married. Here is what I have on this
family:
Decendants of William Thorne
1.WILLIAM2 THORNE (Thomas1) was born in 1675 in Annapolis, Maryland.
He died on 22 Nov 1737 in Charles County, Maryland. He married MARY
GILLAM in 1690 in Annapolis, Maryland, daughter of John Gilliam and
Mary Jones. She was born in 1672 in St Mary's County, Maryland. She
died in 1737 in Charles County, Maryland.
William Thorne and Mary Gilliam had the following children:
i. ABSALOM3 THORNE was born about 1690 in Charles County, Maryland.
He died in 1735 in Charles County, Maryland. He married ELIZABETH
WAKELIN about 1728 in Charles County, Maryland, daughter of Richard
Wakelin and Catherine MNU Wakelin. She was born about 1680 in Charles
County, Maryland. She died before
25 Mar 1761 in Charles County, Maryland.
ii. JOHN THORNE was born in 1696 in Charles County, Maryland. He
died before 10 Jun 1749 in Charles County, Maryland. He married
SUSANNAH MNU THORN about 1744 in Charles County, Maryland.
Note: Some say that Susannah is Susannah Swann dau. of Samuel Swann.
I show this Susannah married to a Mr. Wheeler in 1743 when her fathers
will is probated. Could Mr. Wheeler have died and she remarried?
iii. WILLIAM THORNE JR. was born in 1700 in Charles County,
Maryland. He died after 11 Sep 1766 in Charles County, Maryland. He
married MARY SWANN in Charles County, Maryland, daughter of Thomas
Swann and Elizabeth Cottrell. She was born about 1721 in Charles
County, Maryland. She died after 1788 in Culpeper County, Virginia.
iv. BENJAMIN THORNE was born in 1702 in Charles County, Maryland.
He died before 09 Jun 1766 in Charles County, Maryland. He married
ELIZABETH BURCH about 1722 in Charles County, Maryland, daughter of
Thomas Burch and Leah Noe. She was born about 1706 in Charles County,
Maryland. She died after 1791 in Charles County, Maryland.
v. JAMES THORNE was born in 1705 in Charles County, Maryland. He
died before 06 Mar 1767 in Prince George's County, Maryland. He
married SUSANNA BURCH about 1730 in Prince George's County, Maryland,
daughter of Thomas Burch and Leah Noe. She was born about 1714 in
Charles County, Maryland.
vi. ELIZABETH THORNE was born about 1711 in Charles County,
Maryland. She married ISAAC SHEMWELL before 1737 in St Mary's County,
