"I Micajah McGehee of the County of Oglethorpe & State of Georgia, being weak in body, but in perfect mind & memory, taking into view the uncertainty of life & the certainty of death, do make constitute and appoint Thomas McGehee & Abner McGehee my true and lawful Executors to do & perform this my last will & Testament in manner and form following, (Viz) I give & recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it, & my body to be decently buried. Item, 1st. I do give & bequeath unto my affectionate wife Ann McGehee twenty five hundred dollars which is to be entirely at her disposal during her life; & at her death to be equally divided as the law directs; the balance of my Estate both real & personal to be sold and divided as above stated; after paying my debts & deducting the within amounts out of each debtors legacy. Biography from Findagrave: "Son of Micajah and Nancy "Ann" Baytop Scott McGehee, Thomas married Elizabeth Thornton Gilmer on October 8, 1798 at Ogelthorpe County, Georgia. He and his wife became parents to eleven children. The family moved to Madison County, Alabama about two miles from the Tennessee line in 1815. One biographer stated that he was a man of fine judgment, combined with that indomitable energy that made him successful in business. He was of robust build, standing fully 6 feet, muscular and active."
