Frank S. Troutman, 85, of R.R. 3 Decatur, died Aug. 31 at his home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1873 near Bearsdale, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth A. Bear Troutman. He was married to Clara Elizabeth Barner on January 24, 1900, in Belle Plaine, KS. She died in 1952.
Mr. Troutman was a retired farmer living in the Bearsdale area all of his life. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and the A.T.A.
He leaves a son Bruce, Decatur; three daughters, Mrs. Martha Cole; Mrs. Ruth Buckley and Mrs. Frances Beall, all of Decatur.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home with burial in Boiling Springs Cemetery.

Samuel was born the son of Peter and Mary Polly (Bruce) Troutman, in Fulton Couty, IN.
At the age of nineteen, Samuel enlisted into the Civil War. Enlisted as a Private on 9 August 1862. Enlisted in Company B, 116th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 6 Sep 1862. Mustered Out Company B, 116th Infantry Regiment Illinois on 31 May 1865.
After the war, Samuel joined his parents in Decatur, IL, to which city the had relocated themselves.
He married Elizabeth A Bear on January 10, 1868, in Macon County, IL. Following their marriage, the young couple took up residence on a farm near Bearsdale, having purchased a tract of 160 acres. For 45 years, Samuel would actively engage in the improvement and development of his farm. About 1890, Samuel erected a grain elevator in Bearsdale, for buying and selling grain from the local farmers. He then retired to a home in Decatur, IL. He continued to own the farm ground that he originally bought and received a good annual income from it.
He was survived by his wife, his son, Frank S Troutman, who resides on the family farm and his daughter, Mary Etta, the wife of A.J. Conover.

Bruce Troutman, 94, of Decatur passed away Saturday (Feb. 13, 1999) in McKinley Court. Mr. Troutman was born in Bearsdale on Feb. 25, 1904, the son of Frank S. and Elizabeth Barner Troutman. He was a member of Central Christian Church and a retired farmer. He married Georgia Betzer on March 20, 1933. She preceded him in death on May 25, 1967. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Richard (Janet) Dow of Elgin; sister, Mrs. Beryl (Ruth) Kinser of Decatur; grandson, Scott Dow of Metropolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Donald D. (Martha E. Troutman) Cole, 83, of Rte 3 Decatur, died Sunday (April 7, 1985) in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home with visitation 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg.
Mrs. Cole was born in Decatur, daughter of Frank S. and Clara Elizabeth (Barner) Troutman. She was a meber of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Tri-Psi sorority, Stephen Decatur Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution, Harristown Women's Club, C.T.E. Club and Macon County Historical Society. She married Donald D. Cole on January 24, 1928 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Surviving are her son, Richard of Decatur; daughter, Mrs. Robert H. (Marilyn) Brown of Tempe, AZ.; brother, Bruce F. Troutman of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. Edmond (Frances) Moore and Mrs. Beryl (Ruth) Kinser, both of Decatur; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded her in death.
