Amelia Jane Carter
Mrs. Amelia Jane CARTER, 84, 418 Jefferson street, died at 6:15 a.m. today at the Jones Nursing home at Logansport where she had been a patient for the last three months.
The deceased woman, who had been ill since 1941, died as a result of paralysis.
Born March 6, 1864, near Metea, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of Thomas and Lydia SHILLING MOORE. She was married to William CARTER Dec. 2, 1890, in Logansport. He preceded her in death Aug.2, 1945. She came to Rochester in 1925 from Twelve Mile.
Survivors include a son, Estil CARTER of Rochester; and a daughter, Mrs. Charles BROWN of Macy.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Benjamin G. THOMAS officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF cemetery.
The body will remain in the funeral home where friends may call.

William A. Carter
Death came last night at 9:20 o'clock to William A. CARTER, 79, a real estate man in this community for the past 25 years, and a well known and highly respected citizen.
The deceased, who was 79 last April 11, was born on a farm southwest of Kewanna in 1866, the son of John J. and Sarah (BARNETT) CARTER. On Dec. 2, 1890, at a ceremony performed at Logansport, he was united in marriage with Amelia Jane MOORE. He came to this city from Twelve Mile in 1920, and has since resided here at 418 Jefferson street. Death was due to complications from which he has suffered since early April, when he was confined in Woodlawn hospital.
Surviving are the wife; one son, Estel [CARTER], of Rochester; one daughter, Mrs. Charles BROWN of the Lake Nyona community; one sister, Mrs. Essie LAMBORN of Hammond; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Final rites will be held from the Zimmerman Bros. chapel at two o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. B. G. THOMAS officiating. Burial will be made in IOOF cemetery.
The body will rest at the Zimmerman Bros. funeral home until the funeral hour. Friends may call.

Estel "Duke" CARTER, 68, 222 East Sixth street, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday. He had been seriously ill since Sept. 1.
A lifetime resident of this community, he was born Oct. 8, 1901, near Kewanna, the son of William A. and Amelia Jane MOORE CARTER. His marriage was May 28, 1935, in Rochester, to Susie Mae GIBBONS, who survives. Mr. Carter was a retired restaurant operator and operated the People's Cafe in Rochester many years. He later was caterer for the Reiter Grade school lunch program and for the Fulton County Community Sales Barn. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, Rochester Elks and the Eagles Lodge.
Surviving with his wife are a niece, Mrs. [M.] Emerson (Hazel [R.]) [SHEETS], Akron, and several cousins.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. The Revs. Smiley JOHNSON and V. A. LALLEMENT will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home where Masonic services will be conducted at 7 o'clock tonight.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ditmire-Davidson funeral home in Fulton for Mrs. Charles (Gail) BROWN, 69, who died at Albuquerque, N.M., Wednesday evening. Mrs. Brown had resided in Albuquerque for the past nine years. She had resided in Fulton and Miami counties before moving to Albuquerque. She had been in failing health for the past 14 years. Mrs. Brown was born Nov. 19, 1891, in Fulton county to William and Millie CARTER.
She was married July 17, 1912, in Miami county to Charles BROWN, who survives. Surviving are the husband, R.R. 2, Macy; one son, Vernon C. BROWN, Albuquerque; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel SHEETS, Akron; one brother, Estel CARTER, Rochester; five grandchildren. One daughter preceded in death.
The Rev. C. F. GOLDEN will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday.
