Thomas W Barnett Obituary and Family Listing Published in The Rochester Sentinel Thursday, June 15, 1939 Rochester relatives and friends today were informed of the death of a former resident, Thomas W. BARNETT, 59, which occurred at two a.m. today at his home in Connersville, Ind. Death was caused by a heart attack, the message stated. Mr. Barnett at the time of his demise was superintendent of the Connersville city schools. A number of years ago he was an instructor in the Rochester city schools. The survivors are his wife; three sisters, Miss Alice BARNETT, Mrs. Elizabeth TROUTMAN, Mrs. Claudia WENTZEL, all of Kewanna, and two brothers, Joseph B. Joseph B Barnett Obituary and Family Listing Published in The Rochester News-Sentinel Monday, September 21, 1942 Joseph B. BARNETT, 70, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Fulton county, died late Saturday night at his home, one mile west of Rochester, following an illness of about a year. Born May 8, 1872 in Kewanna, he was the son of Michael and Mary BARNETT. His marriage was to Ada HENDRICKSON in 1899. He had been a resident of the Rochester community 40 years. Surviving are the widow; five sons, Edwin [BARNETT] and Roscoe [BARNETT], both of Mishawaka, Dean [BARNETT] and Joseph [BARNETT], Jr., both of South Bend, and Carl [BARNETT], Fort Sheridan, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Hal TROUTMAN, Mrs. Alice BARNETT and Mrs. Homer WENTZEL, all of Kewanna; one brother, James [BARNETT], Kewanna; and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Barnett's body was taken to the Zimmerman Bros. funeral home where friends may call. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Evangelical church, the Rev. C. J. Ruth Cannon Obituary and Family Listing Ruth CANNON is the daughter of John G CANNON and Claudia Barnett CANNON. She was born August 30 1916 in Kewanna, Indiana. Ruth's senior photo (below) states that she attended Kewanna High School her Freshman and Sophomore years. 1 Apr 1949 Ruth CANNON Miss Ruth CANNON, 33, of Kewanna, died Friday evening in the Robert Long hospital, Indianapolis. She had been critically ill for the past two weeks. Miss CANNON was born August 30, 1916 in Kewanna, the daughter of John and Claudia CANNON. She attended the Kewanna schools and later was graduated from the Rochester high school. For a few years during her residency in Rochester, she was employed at the old Char-Bell theatre. Miss CANNON was a member of the Church of Christ of Kewanna. Survivors are her mother, Mrs. Claudia WENTZEL, her step-father, Homer WENTZEL, both of Kewanna; a sister, Mrs. Esther TRAVIS, St. Louis, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ, Kewanna, with the Rev. Henry BULGER officiating. Burial will be in the Kewanna IOOF Cemetery.
