Walter W Wilson Obituary and Family Listing Published in the Rochester(IN) Sentinel, Wednesday, September 23, 1964 Walter W. WILSON, 80, Del Ray Beach, Fla., a former Kewanna resident, died in Del Ray Beach Tuesday following an illness of several years. Mr. Wilson was a former Fulton county surveyor and was a retired farmer. He moved from Kewanna to Florida in 1955. Born in Kewanna March 21, 1884, he was the son of William F. and Charlotte DOAN WILSON. His wife, Nellie Mae [WILSON], preceded in death. He was a member of the Cason Methodist church in Del Ray Beach and was a graduate of Kewanna high school and Purdue university. He served with the Army in the Philippine Islands. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) MASTELLER, Kewanna, and Mrs. Eugene (Martha) LATHAM, Evansville; a son, Harold [WILSON], Indianapolis; a sister, Miss Myrtle WILSON, Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Ernest [WILSON], Morrow, O.; seventeen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Final rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Harrison chapel at Kewanna and burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F. cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted. John F Wilson Obituary and Family Listing Obituary - Sentinel (Rochester, Indiana) - Tue, Feb. 2, 1937 John F. Wilson, aged 90 years, 8 months and 25 days, a pioneer citizen of Union township passed away Monday afternoon [February 1, 1937] at 2:35 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Henderson, of Kewanna. Death resulted from complications following an illness of over two years' duration. Mr. Wilson was one of the most widely known and highly respected citizens of Fulton county and leaves a host of friends in Fulton, Cass and Pulaski counties. For a long term of years he was an instructor in the Union township schools and also was engaged in farming interests in that locality. He retired from active business duties about ten years ago. John F., son of Thomas and Agnes Wallace Wilson, was born in Union township, Fulton county, Indiana on May 7th, 1846. He was a resident of that community throughout his entire life. On December 28th, 1871 he was united in marriage to Martha HORN. One son, Charles H. WILSON, of Oak Park, Ill., was born to this union. Mrs. Wilson preceded him in death 61 years ago. Mr. Wilson and Emma CARTER were united in wedlock on December 20th, 1877. The deceased was a member of the Kewanna Methodist church and the I.O.O.F. lodge. He was a member of the fraternal organization for over 61 years. It was learned that Mr. Wilson attempted to enlist in a volunteer infantry during the early days of the Civil war but a fractured leg injury which also tore away a large portion of the calf of his leg prevented his acceptance for duty. The survivors are the widow, and the following children: Mrs. Margaret Harrington, of Mishawaka, Mrs. Jennie Henderson, Mrs. Nellie Wilson, Hugh Wilson, all of Kewanna; Charles H. Wilson, of Oak Park, Ill.; Bert Wilson, of Elwood, Ind.; Mrs. Anna D. Martin, of Winter Haven, Fla., and Miss Agnes Wilson, of Washington, D.C. A son, Thomas Wilson, preceded in death. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon. WILSON, 94, formerly of Fulton County and living in Evansville since November 1979, died at 7:20 p.m. Monday at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born April 10, 1886 in Union Township to John F. and Emma R. CARTER WILSON. She married Walter W. WILSON, Oct. 3, 1911 in Wisconsin; he died Sept. 25, 1964. She was a member of the Cason United Methodist Church, Delray, Fla. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) MASTELLER, Rt. 1, Kewanna, and Mrs. Gene (Martha) LATHAN, Evansville; a son, Harold [WILSON], Indianapolis; two sisters, Anna MARTIN, Winterhaven, Fla., and Agnes WILSON, Indianapolis; seventeeh grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. WILSON, 79, well known retired farmer, died at his home in Kewanna last night after an illness of several months. His condition had been critical for the past few weeks following a stroke of paralysis. Mr. Wilson was born September 25th, 1854 in Union township and lived his entire life in that township. He was a member of the Kewanna M.E. Church for more than 43 years. His wife, Mrs. Nellie STREET preceded him in death three years ago. Survivors include three children, Myrtle A. WILSON, of Kewanna, Ernest D. WILSON, of Morrow, O., and Walter W. WILSON, Rochester, a sister, Mrs. O. E. COOK, and a brother, John WILSON, both of Kewanna. Charlotte Wilson (nee Doan) Obituary and Family Listing Published in the Rochester(IN) Sentinel, Wednesday, February 18, 1891 Drs. Vernon and Chas. GOULD went to Kewanna Friday, to assist an Ann Arbor specialist in removing a tumor from Mrs. Wm. F. WILSON, which was attached to one kidney and necessitated the removal of that organ. The patient underwent the two hours operation in a successful manner, but her vitality was so severely reduced that death followed on Sunday. Deceased was a highly esteemed lady, and the funeral, which was held at the family residence yesterday, was largely attended. A husband and three children survive. Harold Walter Wilson Obituary and Family Listing Harold Walter Wilson 98, of Indianapolis, died peacefully September 11, 2010. Harold was born in Chicago on July 31, 1912. He married Thelma E. Alford on November 10, 1946. Survivors include his wife Thelma; his children, Karen Coffin, Alford Wilson (Kathy) and Charlotte Gambrel; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Mastellar. He was a 1936 graduate of Purdue University, and a member of Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity. During WWII he served in Japan as a U.S. Army combat engineer. He worked as a civil engineer for the Indiana highway department for 32 years. Always a Boilermaker, he attended Purdue Alumni Association meetings into his early 90's. A life-long member of the Methodist Church, Harold attended Central Avenue, Broad Ripple, and Bethel United Methodist Churches. His entire family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will miss Harold. Emma Louise Masteller (nee Wilson) Obituary and Family Listing Emma Louise Masteller, 98, of Kewanna passed away peacefully at 4:45 a.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015 at her residence. Born on March 20, 1916 in Hannibal, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Nellie Wilson. On December 7, 1933, she married Robert L. Masteller and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1984. Mrs. Masteller was a homemaker. She also assisted her husband on their farm for many years. She was past matron of the Rochester Order of Eastern Star, member of Kewanna United Methodist Church, DAR and the clan Gunn. Survivors include her three sons, Billy Masteller (Ruth) of Mishawaka, J Masteller and Jonathan Masteller, both of Kewanna, six daughters, Dara Yoder of Argos, Mary Nell Smith (Ron) of Twelve Mile, Barbara Wireman of Lafayette, Sally Masteller of Tuscon, Arizona, Martha Burns (Jeffrey) of Atlanta, Georgia and Emma Masteller of Redwood City, California. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, daughter-in-law, Cathy Masteller and son-in-law, Clyde Wireman. Mrs. Jennie Belle HENDERSON, 56, was born in Kewanna on January 7, 1885, the daughter of John F. and Emma WILSON. In 1904, she was united in marriage to Clyde HENDERSON, who preceded her in death seven years ago. The deceased had resided in Rochester for about ten years, before moving back to Kewanna. She was a member of the Kewanna Methodist church and Rebekah Lodge.
