Funeral services were held from the Akron Methodist Church this afternoon for the late Mrs. Irvin SMITH, aged 69, who died at the home of relatives in Warsaw Wednesday following a stroke of paralysis which she suffered a week ago. Interment was made in the cemetery at Akron. Mrs. Smith was born on a farm near Perrysburg where she resided during her early life. Following her marriage Mrs. Smith resided in Akron with her husband. For the past ten years both Mr. and Mrs. Smith have resided with their children in Warsaw. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Akron. Mrs. Smith has been an invalid for the past thirteen years. At that time she suffered a stroke of paralysis. Several days ago she contracted a heavy cold which caused her to suffer another stroke of paralysis which caused her death. Her husband is also very ill. He was unable to attend the funeral today. Survivors are the husband, four daughters, Mrs. Carla SHAMP, Warsaw, Mrs. Winnie MILLER, Akron, Mrs. Maude GRANDSTAFF, Sullivan and Mrs. Ethel WILLIAMS of East Chicago; three sons, Herbert [SMITH], Gernie [SMITH] and Vernon [SMITH] all of Warsaw; two sisters, Mrs. Harvey NIXON and Mrs. Charles STANTON both of Peru and one brother Siggle STEELE of Peru and twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
