Joseph B. BARNETT, 70, retired farmer and lifelong resident of Fulton county, died late Saturday night at his home, one mile west of Rochester, following an illness of about a year.
Born May 8, 1872 in Kewanna, he was the son of Michael and Mary BARNETT. His marriage was to Ada HENDRICKSON in 1899. He had been a resident of the Rochester community 40 years.
Surviving are the widow; five sons, Edwin [BARNETT] and Roscoe [BARNETT], both of Mishawaka, Dean [BARNETT] and Joseph [BARNETT], Jr., both of South Bend, and Carl [BARNETT], Fort Sheridan, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Hal TROUTMAN, Mrs. Alice BARNETT and Mrs. Homer WENTZEL, all of Kewanna; one brother, James [BARNETT], Kewanna; and 10 grandchildren.
Mr. Barnett's body was taken to the Zimmerman Bros. funeral home where friends may call. Funeral rites will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Evangelical church, the Rev. C. J. COVERSTONE officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Mrs. J. B. (Glenn) BARNETT, 90, died Tuesday at 1:04 p.m. at the Ridgedale nursing home in South Bend. A Rochester resident until May, 1968, she had lived with a son, Edwin [BARNETT], at Granger before moving to the nursing home.
Born April 9, 1880, in Kewanna, she was the daughter of Edwin and Carolyn HENDRICKSON. Her marriage was Oct. 25, 1898, at Kewanna, to Joseph B. BARNETT, who died Sept. 19, 1942.
Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Trinity United Methodist church.
Surviving are five sons, Joseph [BARNETT] of Culver, who is president of Associates Ind. of South Bend; Edwin [BARNETT[, Granger; Roscoe [BARNETT], Mishawaka; Dean [BARNETT], South Bend and Carl [BARNETT], Des Plaines, Ill.; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceding in death were two sisters and two brothers, including O. M. HENDRICKSON of this city.
Last rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Raymond HARRIS of Mishawaka officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service.

Richard E. Barnette, 95, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 3:05pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Richard was born on November 26, 1925 in Mishawaka, IN to Edwin and Eva (Lowman) Barnette.
Richard is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Donna (Sam) Warren of Cassopolis, MI; his sons, Dale Barnette of Nashville, TN and Daniel Barnette of McCormick, SC; his sister, Carol Ann Pallo of South Haven, MI; three grand children; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Barnette.
Dick was a WWII veteran, having serviced in the AirForce (Army AirCorps) for 2 years. He was a mechanic for the B24 planes. Upon returning to Mishawaka, Dick was a Civil Defense Police Officer. He worked for 49 years at Northern Indiana Canteen Food and Vending Machines of South Bend. Dick was an Elder and Deacon for many years and served First Christian Church, Mishawaka faithfully. Dick was a member and Past Master of the Mishawaka Lodge #130 F. + AM. since 1966. He was still doing community volunteer work up until just a few years ago.
Friends may call from 3:00pm-6:00pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545, with a 5:00pm Masonic Service. A funeral service will take place at 12:00pm on Monday, October 18 at First Christian Church, 2511 E. 3rd Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Carol Ann (Barnette) Pallo, 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 04, 2024 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI with her family by her side.
Carol was born on July 30, 1942 in South Bend, IN to the late Edwin M. and Eva (Lowman) Barnette. On June 14, 1964, Carol married the love of her life, Robert Eugene Pallo. He preceded her in death in 2011. Carol was also preceded in death by her daughter, SueAnn Getman, and her brothers, Wayne Barnette and Dick Barnette.
Left to cherish Carol's memories are her sons, Andrew (Lori) Pallo, David (Nachisale Zee "Maggie") Pallo, James (Penny) Pallo, and 4 step-children; grandchildren, Mallory McKenzie, Robert McKenzie, Lucy Pallo, Benjamin Pallo, Dominick Pallo, Gabrielle Pallo, Angie (Kenny) Shipley, & Trisha (Tanner) Andrysiak, and 8 step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Cashis McKenzie, Westin Pallo, Toby Pallo, and 18 step-great-grandchildren. Carol's son, David is especially grateful to his mother, without her, he would have never met his wife, Maggie, or had his daughters, Lucy and Gabby. "Rest in peace mom, now go be with Papi".
Carol graduated from Clay High School then went on to earn her nursing degree from St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN. She worked for Memorial Hospital for a few years, and retired from Healthwin Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center after over 25 years of employment.
Carol was a beautifully pleasant person with a contagious laugh and a joyful spirit. She loved playing board games, card games, and enthusiastically frequented casinos. Carol dedicated her life to her family. She was an excellent cook and baker, showing her love for her family and friends through the delicious foods she made them. Carol loved spending summers at Jenola Park on the 3 Mile Lake watching her grandchildren and laughing the days away with friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, Mayflower Road. Family will hold a private burial at a later date in New Carlisle Cemetery in New Carlisle, IN.
