Samuel E Wilson Obituary and Family Listing Hold Samuel E. Wilson Funeral on Tuesday Samuel E. Wilson, age 74, died at Chanute hospital last Saturday night. Mr. Wilson was born in Alien county and has lived practically all of his life in this vicinity. For the past twenty-five years he has farmed about four miles south of Iola. He was primarily a stockman and was a well known breeder of draft horses. His horses were exhibited at a number of fairs. Mr. Wilson was a member of the First Methodist church, Iola. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Harry Burns, Iola, Mrs. Carl Burgess, Parsons, and Mrs. Marvin Hodges, Pasadena, Calif., two grand children and his sister, Miss Frances A. Wilson, former Allen county treasurer, with whom he has made his home since his wife died some years ago. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p. m., Tuesday, at the Waugh Funeral Home by the Rev. C. E. Sisney. Burns, 77, of 208 South State Street, died Tuesday evening, July 10, at Sterling Heights Manor. She had been in failing health for two years and seriously ill the past five months. Mrs. Burns was born Oct. 20, 1901, the daughter of Samuel E. and Centennial Rose Wilson. On June 4, 1923, she was united in marriage to Harry E. Burns in Yates Center. Except for four years when she and Mr. Burns lived in Carthage, Mo., Mrs. Burns had lived her entire life in Allen County. She attended Calvary United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sisters, Mrs. E. C. (Clara) Burgess of Iola and Mrs. H. A. (Cecyl) Hudman, Pasadena, Calif., and nieces and nephews. The Rev. Arthur B. Mix will officiate at a graveside service in lola Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Friends may call at the Friskel Memorial Chapel which is in charge of arrangements, until 10:15 am.
