John W Nelson Obituary and Family Listing LAKE CHARLES, La. — John W. Nelson, 84, formerly of rural McPherson, Kan., died Friday, May 26, 1995, at Memorial Hospi- tal, McPherson. Mr. Nelson was born July 2, 1910, at Urich, Mo., and was a Lake Charies resident since 1970, moving from McPherson. He was a retired founder and owner of J.W. Transport, McPherson and Lake Charles. He was a member of University Methodist Church, Lake Charles, and a former mem- ber of First United Methodist Church, McPherson. He was also a 50-year member and 32-degree Mason at Guthrie, Okla. His wife, Mary “Bea” Beatrice, died in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Jer- ry of McPherson and Ralph Gene of Lake Charles; a daughter, Nan- cy Guiot of Chanute, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. A service will be at 2 p.m. today at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid, McPherson 67460, the Rev. Robert M. Fleenor offici- ating. A second service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Chapei, Lake Charles. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery, Lake Charles. Memorials may be made to the Cedars Health Care Center, McPherson, or the McPherson Shrine Children’s Fund.
