Earl Garland McNew, 87, of San Diego died Sept. 3. He was born in Hotchkiss, Colo., and served in the Army Air Forces during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Edith McNew; daughter, Shirley McNew; sons, Stephen McNew and David McNew; sisters, Lovene and Delores; brothers, Paul, Fletcher, Roy and Laverle; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services: private.

McNew of Sacramento, loving father of Lois Smith of Sacramento and Verne McNew of Tustin, brother of Earl McNew of San Diego, Roy McNew of Shingle Springs, Loverl McNew of Illinois, Paul McNew of Idaho, Delores Gibson of Apple Valley and Lovene Carlson of Costa Mesa,; grandfather of six. A Native of Indiana, aged 60 years. Friends are welcome at Sierra View Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd., and are invited to attend services at 10 a.m. Saturday. Graveside Services will follow.
