Esther M Hollenback (nee Croff) Obituary and Family Listing HOLLENBACK, ESTHER M. (CROFF) THE OREGONIAN Thursday 30 May 1991 A memorial service for Esther M. Hollenback, a Gresham resident, will be at 5 p.m. Sunday in Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring. Burial was in Douglass Cemetery in Troutdale. She died of congestive heart failure Tuesday in a Gresham care center. Mrs. Hollenback was 95. Born April 11, 1896, in Scott County, Michigan, she was raised in Nebraska. Her Maiden name was Croff. After earning her teaching certificate, she taught school in Nebraska for several years. She married Roy L. Hollenback, a pastor and evangelist, on April 28, 1918, in Boone, Iowa. The couple lived in New York, Massachusetts, Indiana and in California. Mrs. Hollenback moved to Gresham in 1976. She was a member of Good Shepherd Community Church. Her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Miriam Lewis of Bremerton, Washington and Bonnie : Fiser of Greenwood, Arizona; sons, Dr. C. Byron of Mangum, Oklahoma, Roy Jr. of McMinnville, David M. of Troutdale and Dwight of Salinas, California; 22 grandchildren, 23 great-—grandchildren and two great-great-—grandchildren. Roy L Hollenback Jr Obituary and Family Listing Description: Son of Roy Leonidas and Esther Mahree Croff Hollenback. His family moved to California in 1938 where he was raised and schooled. He graduated from San Jose, CA and attended Chico State College. As a young man he worked in a lumber mill. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946 during WWII. He married Jackie Freeman on November 18, 1949 in Caruthers, CA. After their marriage, they moved to Roseburg, OR until 1953 when they returned to California. While in California they lived in Cottonwood, San Jose and Fortuna. In 1975 they returned to Oregon where Roy operated a retail business. He and his wife owned and operated several small business including a grocery store and Fat Roses Pizza in Silverton. He retired in 1995. He loved music and until he retired, was active as a soloist and choir director. He also enjoyed sports and politics, but most of all his family. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Bonnie Elizabeth Fiser (nee Hollenback) Obituary and Family Listing Bonnie Elizabeth Fiser, 83, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Methodist Nursing Home. She was born on November 12, 1931 in Lowell, Massachusetts to Roy and Ester (Croff) Hollenback. She was a homemaker and a member of East Side Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband James King Fiser and by her son Jerry Fiser. Bonnie loved and was known for her music and played either the piano or the organ in every church she ever attended, she was also politically active and volunteered at the voting precincts. She was not afraid to voice her opinions on numerous subjects and would submit letters to the editor on a regular basis. She loved two things above all else, her Lord and her family and loved them both unconditionally. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Monday, March 16, 2015 at East Side Baptist Church with burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood, Arkansas under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Matt, Jason, Scott and Joe Fiser, Jamie Freeman and Brooks Fiser. She is survived by her daughter Deanna Freeman and her husband Greg of Fort Smith, AR; two sons, Randy Fiser and Don Fiser and his wife Carmella both of Fort Smith, AR; two brothers, David Hollenback of Grisham, OR and Dwight Hollenback of Fresno, CA; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Daniel Paul Mulvey-Hollenback Obituary and Family Listing Daniel Paul Mulvey of Sequim, Washington passed away at his home on May 20, 2024. He was 67. Daniel was born July 4, 1956, in Susanville, California to Dwight and Barbara (Freeman) Hollenback. He graduated from college with a Bachelor of Science in geography. This enabled him to work as a geographic researcher for Safeway, helping the company decide the best locations for new stores. In 2012, Daniel found a new location for himself, moving from California to the Olympic Peninsula. Daniel was a well-rounded individual with diverse interests and hobbies. He was a man of faith, and a member of Sequim Community Church. He loved spending time outdoors hiking trails, riding his bicycle, golfing and sailing. He also enjoyed reading, listening to music, and photographing the scenery of the Olympic Peninsula. Another thing Daniel cherished was conversation, often engaging his loved ones in deep discussions. Daniel is survived by his mother, Barbara Tingley; brother, Brian (Kelly) Mulvey; and nephew, Cameron Cleveland. Alma Hollenback (nee Safely) Obituary and Family Listing Alma Larue Hollenback, 81, went home to the loving arms of her heavenly father Saturday, April 25, 2020. Alma was born October 4, 1938 in Arkansas. She became a Christian as a young girl playing piano and organ for the church. She shared her love for gospel music with her husband who directed and sang for the church as well. For the past three years she continued playing piano at Windsor The Ridge Rehabilitation Center where her beloved husband had passed. She retired in the late 90's from Salinas Union High School District. Her family considered her the best mom and gramma ever, she truly was a blessing to all. She was a loving and devoted wife proceeded by her husband of almost 50 years, Dwight; and parents, Earl and Myrtle Safley. She was survived by sons, Greg(Kelly) Shaw of Salinas, Gary Shaw of Lompoc, and daughter, Jamie(Frank) Parker of Alderson, WVA; grandson, Chad Escamilla; granddaughters, Ashlee Shaw of Salinas, Kaitlyn(Paul) Gunn of Lompoc, Amanda Shaw of Hawthorne; great-grandsons, Tanner, Mason, and George.
