Winifred Ethel Strahan (nee Purdue) Obituary and Family Listing Winifred Ethel Strahan, 101, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Parker, KS. She was born March 21, 1912 in Lee's Summit, MO, to Lewis and Nellie (Parson) Perdue. She was united in marriage to Clyde Strahan who preceded her in death. She taught school, 5th grade, in Raytown and Blue Springs schools. She was a member of First Christian Church of Blue Springs, and Eastern Star. She enjoyed quilting, planting flowers, watching birds and the Kansas City Royals. In addition to her husband Clyde, she was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Billy Ray Sims; and five siblings. Winifred is survived by her nieces, Sandra Harmon of Centerville, KS, Patty Middleton and husband Stan of Ardmore, OK, Donna Curry and Husband Winford of Ardmore, OK, Wanda Allen and husband Jerell of Butler, MO; great nieces, Laronda Warrick and husband Jason of Parker, KS, Tara Miller and husband Kenny of Grain Valley, MO; great nephews, Troy Sims of Kansas City, MO, Wade Middleton of San Antonio, TX; great great nephews and nieces, McKinley Warrick, Larson Warrick, Logan Middleton, Austin Sims, Dalton Miller, Reese Miller, and Brody Miller. Funeral Services for Winifred will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at First Christian Church of Blue Springs, 701 NW 15th St., Blue Springs, MO, with visitation at 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial to be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Winifred may be made to First Christian Church of Blue Springs.
