Ottawa - Mrs. Marjorie G. Lewis, 76, Ottawa, died Saturday, Nov. 13 (should be 3), at the home of a daughter in Ottawa.
Mrs. Lewis was a midwife and waitress while she lived in Coffeyville.
She was born June 11, 1908, at McPherson, the daughter of E. E. and Hattie Elizabeth Troutman Strahan. She moved from Coffeyville to Ottawa in 1978.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of Franklin County Senior Center at Ottawa and Rebekah Lodge and Havana United Methodist Church in Coffeyville.
She was married to Carl Lewis in 1937 in Kinsley. He died in 1966. A daughter, Mrs. Velma Lepley, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Beverly O'Connor, Ottawa; a sister, Mrs. Mae Trubey, Rossville; six grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dengel and son Mortuary in Ottawa. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Havana Cemetery, near Coffeyville. Mrs. Lewis will lie in state from 4 p.m. Monday until service time at the mortuary.

Beverly Ann O’Connor, 79, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday August, 26 2023, at Dengel and Son, Ottawa Chapel.
Family will meet with friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, August 25, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
Interment Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, Kansas.
Bev was born Friday, January 21, 1944, in Havana, Kansas. She was the daughter of Carl and Marjorie (Strahan) Lewis.
She lived in Wichita, Kansas for the past twelve years, however, spent most of her life in the Ottawa area.
Bev graduated from Havana High School with the class of 1962.
She was united in marriage to Michael O’Connor on May 21, 1976. They later divorced after twenty-five years of marriage.
Bev was a homemaker and had several small home business adventures including Bev’s Ceramics and her own daycare for many years.
She enjoyed dancing at the senior dances with Terry, painting ceramics, traveling, rodeos, horses. To those who knew her well, knew her cell phone was her main hobby. Most importantly, Beverly loved her family deeply.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Marjorie; former husband Mike O’Connor, brother Joel McIntyre; and sisters Velma Lepley and Freda Griffin; and life-long friends Pat Gilliland and Sherry Lepley.
Survivors include companion Terry Rupert of Wichita, Kansas; children Jeff Olivas of Spring Hill, Kansas, Michelle Foster (Jerry) of Ottawa, Kansas, Michele Dean of Spring Hill, Kansas and Michael O’Connor II of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren Alli, Jeffrey, Mercedes, Morgan, Austin, Kylie, and Macy; great grandchildren Lyndsay, Chase, Miles, Mckenzie, Leia, Amelia, and Gentry; life-long friend Val Garrison of Vassar, Kansas; along with many nieces and nephews.
