Darlene Marcella Smith, 83, of Sidney, died Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, following an extended illness. She was born on January 8, 1926, and was the daughter of Perry Albert Clapper & Pearl Ora (Thompson) Clapper Smay.
Darlene was first married to Raymond Danley. In 1969, she married Ernest "Ernie" Smith of Sidney, IA.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the First Christian Church in Tabor, with Pastor Richard Billingsley officiating.
Visitation will be open after 6 p.m. Tuesday with the family greeting friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawford-Marshall Funeral Chapel in Tabor.
Interment will be in the Tabor Cemetery.
