Note | Thomas G. "Tommy" Shemwell 75, of Eads, TN, formerly of Memphis, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel, with interment to follow in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. on Friday, August 7, at the funeral home. Tommy retired from Mid-South Fair/ Libertyland after 30 years of service, and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Tommy was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Charlene Shemwell; and by his son, Thomas Jerome "Jerry" Shemwell. He is survived by 2 sons, Tim Shemwell (Kathy) and Tony Shemwell (JoAnne); 7 grandc½hildren, Branden, Chris, Logan, Luke, Laney, Landon, and Lexy; his sister, Ginger Shemwell; his brother, George Shemwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
