Leland E. Williams, age 81 a resident of Montgomery since 1966 passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011.
He was born in Lynch, Kentucky on August 12, 1929. Mr. Williams served in the Air Force. He Spent 32 years barbering at Birmingham and Maxell AFB, after his retirement he was in Supervision for D.S.I. Security. He was a long time member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church and the Hurley Class. He has been an Auburn fan since 1937, War Eagle.
Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Williams, his father Pace Will Williams, Sr. and a son John Peter Burns.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Williams; son, Leland Eugene Williams, II. and wife, Alisa; daughter, Vicki Lynn Wright and husband, Ray; daughter, Michelle Lynn Goins; three grand children, Heather Lynn Burton, Douglas Wright, Shawn Shemweel and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Leak Memory Chapel on thursday, January 20, at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. Rick Marshall officiating, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 3:00p.m. in Lynn/Crossing Cemetery in Graysville, Alabama. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers will be the men from the Hurley Class and Men's Prayer Breakfast group.
