Note | Dr. Robert Joe Burleson was a private practitioner in Decatur, Alabama and Asheville, North Carolina. He joined the University of Alabama Health Service in 1974 and joined the faculty of the University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences as Director of Surgical Education in 1977. In 1978 he was voted Outstanding Faculty Member by that year’s graduating class. He was a member of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, Mayo Orthopaedic Alumni Club, the North Carolina Commission for the Blind. He was also named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and named Professor Emeritus of Surgery by the Board of Trustees of the University of Alabama at its meeting held 25 Sep 1986 |
