John Carteret, 2d Earl Granville was christened on 4 May 1690 in St James, Westminster, Middlesex, England. He passed away in Bath, Somersetshire, England. He was buried on 11 Jan 1763 in Westminster Abbey, London, Middlesex, England. He married Frances Worsley on 17 Oct 1710 in Longleat Chapel, Longbridge Deverill, Wiltshire, England. The couple had issue: Georgiana Caroline (Spencer), Louisa, George, Frances, Robert, and Grace. John was an English statesman, commonly known by his earlier title as Lord Carteret, was the son of George Carteret, 1st Baron Carteret and Grace Granville. John was 7th Seigneur of Sark from 1715 to 1720 when he sold the fief. He held (in absentia) the office of Bailiff of Jersey from 1715.
