Obituary
Donald J. Longbine of Warminster, Pennsylvania died Monday, January 26, 2015 at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was 84 years old. Donald was born May 19, 1930 in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, son of the late Mallard Longbine and the late Grace Sites (nee - Moyer) and her husband Clayton. He is the beloved husband of Earline (nee Carmichael) Longbine; Father of David Longbine and William Longbine and his wife Denise, grandfather of four, great grandfather of three. Donald was born, raised, and educated in Mount Carmel, PA. He enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1948 and was later drafted into the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably during the Korean War and was discharged in January of 1954. Donald moved to Abington after the war and went to work for Standard Press Steel. He worked with Gertrude Carmichael who introduced him to her daughter Earline. Donald and Earline fell in love and were married on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1957 in Pine Grove, PA. They continued to live in Abington and Donald later went to work as a Bus Driver for Abington School District. He retired in 1985 after serving as Superintendent of Transportation. After retirement Donald’s love of driving kept him busy as a driver, delivering window blinds for Elmer Supply and for an Auto Parts Distributor. He loved to garden in his free time and was a cleaning fanatic always keeping a tidy home. Donald and Earline moved into Centennial Station in 1997. Services were private.
