"The approximate time of death for John Campbell is made by the public notice appearing in the April 3rd, 1839 issue of the Cincinnati Daily Gazette by Peter "Helmich", Administrator for the settling of outstanding debts to the Estate of John Campbell of Crosby Township. There is a small cemetery, called Owry Cemetery, sitting behind a business on Kilby Rd. in Whitewater Twp. It contains a broken headstone of one John Campbell. It is not known if this is our ancestor or the other John Campbell. It is more likely our John is buried at Old Baptist Cemetery with his family. No headstone is visible for him there, and original burial records were destroyed by the wife of original record keeper." |
