Harold Walter Wilson Obituary and Family Listing Harold Walter Wilson 98, of Indianapolis, died peacefully September 11, 2010. Harold was born in Chicago on July 31, 1912. He married Thelma E. Alford on November 10, 1946. Survivors include his wife Thelma; his children, Karen Coffin, Alford Wilson (Kathy) and Charlotte Gambrel; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Mastellar. He was a 1936 graduate of Purdue University, and a member of Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity. During WWII he served in Japan as a U.S. Army combat engineer. He worked as a civil engineer for the Indiana highway department for 32 years. Always a Boilermaker, he attended Purdue Alumni Association meetings into his early 90's. A life-long member of the Methodist Church, Harold attended Central Avenue, Broad Ripple, and Bethel United Methodist Churches. His entire family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will miss Harold.
