Hazel Frances Carr (nee Greer) Obituary and Family Listing The South Bend Tribune (South Bend, Indiana) · 9 Mar 1997, Sun · Page 34 Hazel F Carr May 19, 1907 - March 8, 1987 Mrs. Hazel F Carr, 89, of Newaygo, Mich., passed away on Saturday morning, March 8, Transitional Health Services of Fremont, Mich. She was born May 19, 1907, at Star City, Ind,. to the late Leo and Nellie (Carter) Greer. She was married on Jan. 27, 1926, to Arvin O. Carr, who preceded her in death on Jan. 3, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Leazenby and Beatrice Ann Clark, both of Newaygo, and Barbara (Jon) Gast of Kewanna, Ind; one son, Don (Mary Lou) Carr of Lakeville, Pa,;18 grandchidren, 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren. one step-great-great grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. Hazel was employed as an operator for the United Telephone Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1972 as assistant supervisor for the Winemac office. At her request cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at Peasant Hill Cemetery at Lake Bruce, Ind., at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of doner's choice.
