The Shemwell Family

Bertha and Bertie Ritter appear to be twins. In the 1885 Census they are both listed as 2yrs old. In the 1895 Census they are both listed as 12 yrs old. In the 1900 Census they are both listed as 17yrs old. The birth date for each one is shown as June 1882. There is a source entitled "Ritter, Iowa, County Births, 1880-1935". It list a child(ren) both with the surname as "Ritter" and shows the parents as Jeremiah Ritter and Margaret Gibson. Considering both children as each listed in various Census's records with the same birth date/age, it is safe to assume that they are probably twins.
